Debate Motion 1:   THB the advantages of being a TCK outweigh the disadvantages.

Debate Motion 2:  THB immigrants should assimilate to the cultural identity of the country they arrive to.

*PLEASE NOTE: IN OUR CLASS DEBATE THE TIMING WILL BE THREE 3 MINUTE SPEECHES AND ONE 1 MINUTE SUMMARY SPEECH FOR EACH TEAM!

Roles:

1st Speaker Propostion:

– Define Motion (all the key words)

– Introduce what team will say.

– Give point

– Conclude

1st Speaker Opposition:

– Accept or Argue the Definition given by proposition #1 (all the key words)

– Rebut what proposition #1 said and rebuild case

– Introduce what team will say.

– Give point

– Conclude

2nd Speaker Propostion:

– Re-define Motion (all the key words) *only if there was a problem with original definition

– Rebut what opposition #1 said and rebuild case

– Give point(s)

– Conclude

2nd Speaker Oppostion:

– Rebut what proposition #2 or #1 said and rebuild case

– Give point(s)

– Conclude

3rd Speaker Propostion:

– Rebut what opposition #2 or #1 said and rebuild case

– Identify major clashes in debate (the big picture – what are we really arguing about?), and clarify.

– Give final point

– Conclude

3rd Speaker Oppostion:

– Rebut what proposition #3, #2 or #1 said and rebuild case

– Identify major clashes in debate (the big picture – what are we really arguing about?), and clarify.

– Give final point

– Conclude

Summary Speaker Oppostion:

– Summarize all the major points in the debate and explain clearly why his team won

Summary Speaker Propostion:

– Summarize all the major points in the debate and explain clearly why his team won
